community storeThe Community Store sets Halifax Street abuzz on Saturdays!

Housed in the Hall, the Store stocks men’s, women’s and some children’s clothing; toys; craft goods; and bric-a-brac. A dedicated team of volunteers sorts the goods on Wednesdays and staffs the store on Saturdays.

Stock is turned over regularly—any unsold items are sent on to Anglicare. Customers include bargain hunters young and old and many are regulars.

Proceeds go to support St John’s parish and charities such as St John’s Youth Services, The Magdalene Centre and refugees.

The Store welcomes donations of clean, good-quality items, ‘such as you would use yourself’. There is a bin outside the shop for depositing items.
