St John’s attracts parishioners from across Adelaide, and a growing number comes from the inner city. They are of all ages and from a wide variety of backgrounds; many take a lively interest in community and social issues.

There are around 130 individuals and families on the official parish list.

The South Australian chapter of the Anglican community Society of the Sacred Mission is based at St John’s Priory. The Society provides the Priest in Charge, Father Christopher Myers. Other clergy provide additional support as required.

The Statement of Parish Directions, which is regularly reviewed by members of the congregation, stresses living by Christ’s teaching in daily life, respecting and helping one another, and growing spiritually.

The Parish has adopted the Safe Ministry practices of the Anglican Diocese of Adelaide.
