Reopening 9.30am–12.30 pm Saturdays from 06 June.

Closed 10am – 12noon Wednesdays until further notice.

The Community Store sets Halifax Street abuzz on Saturdays!

Housed in a wing of the hall building, the Store stocks women’s  and men’s clothing, shoes and handbags,      bric-a-brac, manchester, craft goods, books, DVDs, CDs and toys . A team of volunteers sorts the goods on Wednesdays and staffs the store on Saturdays.

Customers include bargain hunters young and old, and many are regulars. One felt so welcome that she has become our new coordinator.

Stock is turned over regularly—we send any unsold items on to several (!) other Op Shops. Proceeds go to support St John’s parish and charities such as St John’s Youth Services for homeless young people in the city and refugees.

The Store welcomes donations of clean, good-quality items, such as you would use yourself’. There is a bin outside the shop for depositing items.

During the lockdown the store has been closed, but we are open again – only on Saturdays to begin with – from Saturday 6 June.

We plan to expand into the adjacent hall so that we can all observe stringent safety precautions.

The clothes racks and shelves are packed with new donations!

Do come and celebrate our good fortune to live in South Australia and our partial release from ‘iso’!
